About Dr. Alyssa Marley
Naturopathic Doctor | Founder of Hygeia Integrative Medicine
I’m Dr. Alyssa Marley, a licensed naturopathic doctor and the founder of Hygeia Integrative Medicine. My work is deeply rooted in a belief that true healing happens when we treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and honor the body’s innate wisdom to heal.
I hold a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, where I completed over 800 hours of clinical rotations in primary and specialty care, 150+ hours of advanced preceptorships, and extensive continuing education in fields like gynecology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, endocrinology, and environmental medicine. My training also includes craniosacral therapy, Kinesio taping, biofeedback, and both intravenous and injection therapies.
Before naturopathic medical school, I studied Biology and Anthropology at Fordham University in New York—a foundation that continues to shape how I view health: as a biological reality and a cultural, emotional, and spiritual experience.

Why I Chose Naturopathic Medicine
I’ve always been drawn to the way science and tradition intersect. My background in anthropology sparked a fascination with how ancient cultures understood the human body, and how belief systems, social environments, and ancestral knowledge shaped healing practices.
As someone with Greek-Cypriot and Polish roots, I grew up immersed in the value of natural remedies, food as medicine, and the importance of family, connection, and storytelling. I chose naturopathic medicine because it bridges those values with evidence-based care—and because I’ve seen firsthand how this approach can transform lives, including those of my own loved ones.
Outside the Clinic
Outside of work, I’m a wife to my college sweetheart and mom to two beautiful boys—one toddler and one baby—plus our chocolate lab who keeps us all on our toes. We live in the beautiful town of Exeter, NH, where I love hiking forest trails, digging for worms with my toddler, and soaking in the seasons.
I find deep joy in the kitchen, where cooking is my love language. I believe food has the power to nourish, heal, and bring people together, and that joy and health often start at the dinner table.
I also cherish traveling, especially visits to Cyprus and Poland, where much of my extended family still lives. These places ground me and inspire the ancestral wisdom I bring into my practice.
